With these travel tips, you'll know everything you need to before you leave!

Mexico City

For your first stop head to the capital city and cultural hub of the country, Mexico City. An eclectic mix of old and new, in Mexico City you'll find Aztec ruins, roman cathedrals and luxury stores all within a stone's throw of each other.

Stay in the trendy suburb of Polenco and you will be surrounded by gorgeous boutiques, quaint cafes and restaurants spilling out onto the sidewalk. There are plenty of great spots for afternoon cocktails or to try out some upmarket, traditional Mexican restaurants.

If you're planning on visiting the many impressive museums and galleries in the city, you can stay in the historic centre amongst grand buildings and European-style streets. This area is more casual and a great place to find relaxed cafes, local bakeries and taco shops. Some of the best Mexican food can be found at small stalls set up on the side of the road, offering cheap beer, tacos and empanadas to locals passing by.

Before leaving Mexico City, make sure to visit Chapultepec Castle in the centre of the park, as well as Frida Kahlo's Casa Azul. If you have time, there are many great day trips which can easily be made out of the city. Head to Teotihuacan to see the impressive sun and moon pyramids or take the opportunity to visit the stunning Grutas de Tolantongo hot springs. With bright white stone and clear blue water, these natural infinity pools look as though they have come straight from your Instagram feed.

Cancun, Quintana Roo

After a busy few days exploring the bustling city, Cancun is the prefect next stop for a relaxing change of pace. Almost 2000 kilometers away from Mexico City, Cancun is a popular travel destination on the Western coast of the country, famous for its stunning beaches.

Stay in one of the many hotels in the 'hotel zone' if you're looking to completely chill out. You can spend your days soaking up the sun and swimming in the Caribbean, with plenty of yummy restaurants and shops right on your doorstop.

For something more fast paced or if you are travelling on a budget, stay in El Centro or 'downtown'. You can keep busy with some of the best local bars and restaurants, as well as visiting the large market for affordable souvenirs and traditional wares.

Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca

If you love adventuring through beaches by day and bars by night, this is the place for you.

Nestled along the pacific coast is a surfer's paradise in bustling Puerto Escondido. Grommets can start their surfing journey at Carrizalillo Beach where locals are on hand to provide surf lessons to tourists from around the world. If you're a seasoned surfer head over to La Punta for a long and popular wave and surf as the sun sets over the water giving the sky blissful pink clouds as it turns into the night.

Once you retire from the surf head straight from the beach at La Punta across to Juana, a locally owned and run Mezcaleria bar. Dance the night away with a cocktail or if you're after a chill vibe head around the corner to The Boneyard for an icy cold Corona while you watch locals skate in the bowl until closing.

Now that you know all the must-see spots and have the insider travel tips to ensure your time in Mexico is truly unforgettable, it's time to get booking. Bon voyage, or as they say in Spanish, Buen Viajhe!
