So what's the story? The SMILEY® brand was born in 1972 at the hands of creator Franklin Loufrani. Loufrani originally used the SMILEY® logo and slogan "Take The Time To Smile" to highlight 'feel-good' stories in European newspapers. Since then, the iconic SMILEY® symbol has been a reminder to the world to feel happy about all the good things in life.
Here at SUNNYLiFE we love creating good vibes and couldn't agree more with the positive outlook of the SMILEY® brand. This year we decided to make it official with a limited-edition collaboration to mark their 50th anniversary!
And it's not just us who love SMILEY®! For the past 50 years, SMILEY® has been used as a symbol of defiant optimism by leading creatives in the worlds of art, fashion, music, film, print and pop culture. Think trendsetters such as Nirvana, The Talking Heads, Banksy, Loewe and Moschino.
We couldn't be more excited to join the SMILEY® revolution and reveal our exclusive anniversary edition products with you. The collab features two bestselling favourites: a clear, glitter-filled Inflatable Ball and luxe, double Lie On Float. Both of these epic designs can be taken from the pool to the surf, and feature bold SMILEY® iconography.
However, this is not any old smiley face. To celebrate the big occasion, SMILEY® has come up with an exclusive collector's edition logo. Paying homage to all the fantastic artists that have put their mark on SMILEY® over the last 50 years, the fun spray paint logo was created in collaboration with graffiti artist André Saraiva. This year the Collector's Edition logo is being used on exclusive products designed in collaboration with some of the coolest brands around the world - Including us!
